What's New On Streaming for April

by Ronald Elias

Star Wars: "ThevClone Wars” (Disney+)

After initially “ending” a few years ago, the beloved Star Wars series, “The Clone Wars”, is back for a seventh -- and this time actually final -- season. If you are a fan of the larger Star Wars universe and have yet to dive into these action-packed adventures, you are in for a treat -- “The Clone Wars” is Star Wars at its best. And now it's easily watchable on Disney+.

“Community” (Netflix)

OK, sure, NBC’s fantastic sitcom “Community” may have already been streaming on Hulu, but now it gets to reach a whole new audience on Netflix starting April 1. If you missed out on this quirky and heartfelt show the first time around, don’t make that mistake again! At its high points, “Community” is one of the best TV shows ever created.

"Parasite” (Hulu)

Oscar winning movie “Parasite” hits Hulu this month, bringing Bong Joon Ho’s film to streaming screens everywhere. If you haven’t yet checked out what all the fuss is about, you no longer have an excuse: It’s a perfect way to spend an evening stuck at home.

“Onward” (Disney+)

Didn’t get a chance to catch Pixar’s latest film before everyone started sheltering in place? Don’t worry -- Disney has bought the film to streaming much earlier than expected, giving everybody a chance to check this one out at home.

In “Onward,”  you’ll enter a world where magic is real, or at least it used to be. Two elven brothers take center stage in this buddy adventure that’s cute and comedic, with a sprinkling of magic here and there.

A Bunch of Bonds (Amazon Prime)

Looking for a long movie franchise to binge to make the days go by faster? How about some Bond, James Bond?

A bunch of 007’s films are hitting Amazon Prime this month, including “Goldeneye,” “From Russia With Love,” “Live and Let Die,” and “The World is Not Enough.” We hope that will be enough, at least.

Even better, these are 4K UHD versions of the films, giving you pretty much the best picture quality you’ll get out of streaming these days. Hard to argue with that.

We all have a lot of time on our hands now, and there’s no better way to spend it than catching up on TV. Keep an eye on these streaming shows and movies and get those binges started!

Of course, even the best shows are only as good as the screen you are watching them on. If your TV can’t keep up with all the new watching demand, give us a call! We’d be glad to help you find the perfect TV for you and your family to gather around with all your newfound time at home.
